My Two Cents: Spring Break, Part 3 (The Final Chapter)

Ill weather came to visit at the tail end of our vacation. At first, we did try to brave it anyway and decided to trek along the top of the pier, rather than under it.

Admittedly, it would have been more enjoyable had the wind been less than 57mph and the temperature about 20 degrees warmer, but we survived and did get to see some cool stuff. But hey, at least now we can say we walked out on the pier!

Emmanuel was particularly taken with the fishing boats surrounded by the pelicans looking for an easy meal.

Meanwhile, I found myself fascinated by the people braving the frigid water for their sporting activities.

Once we had the experience under our belts, we decided we were all done with the outdoors. The wind was relentless and it made us cry. So, to stay in theme, we headed down the road to the North Carolina Aquarium.

Okay, so I realize Georgia boasts the largest aquarium in the world, or the country, or whatever, in Georgia, but this aquarium just up and shut Georgia's mouth. Zipped it right up.

First, there was the atrium with the fresh water exhibits. You really got the feeling you were exploring in the outdoors and could get really close to the animals. Not that we really wanted to...but we did anyway.

When we reached the ocean exhibit, we just so happened to be right on time for their interactive dive show.

So we snagged front row seats and sat through the whole show, fascinated.

I'm pretty sure Fallon's now reconsidering her future career as a Princess and looking into her options in marine biology. Maybe not.

The petting area took some pretty heavy coercion.

Thankfully when we're surrounded by otherwise brave children, Fallon is more open to stepping into the terrifying world of holding a starfish.

The rest of the aquarium boasted some really nice exhibits, and we wound up spending a small fortune in the gift shop because we couldn't help ourselves.

Back at the house, we capped off our vacation with the must-do Easter tradition of hunting for eggs. But this time the Easter Bunny decided to be crafty and make the eggs glow in the dark.
