Halloween this year gave us yet another holiday to stick in our memory boxes.  About 2 weeks before the big day, we headed to the pumpkin patch to select our pumpkins.  We picked up three pumpkins...one tall and skinny, one short and wide, and the other small and nearly perfectly round.  One could probably guess which belonged to whom.  I'll go ahead and apologize for not having photographed our selection, it's just that I had thought the image of the carved creations would be sufficient.

A week later, we finally got around to carving out those bad boys.  I had printed off some Disney character faces (Fallon's, appropriately, was Minnie Mouse) to put on our pumpkins, flattened out a cardboard box to protect the floor, and brought out the carving tools.  This was going to be Fallon's first carving experience! 

Initially, Miss Fallon had some (okay, a lot of) apprehension when it came to cleaning out the pumpkin, but when we told her she was on a treasure hunt for seeds, and gave her a *special* tool for the adventure, she was all over it!

 

Unfortunately, when we tried to carve out the adorable faces, despite that we did follow instructions, the pumpkins broke and we were left with nothing but indiscernable holes.  Therefore, this Halloween went without jack-o-lanterns.  Better luck next year, I suppose.

On Friday, Fallon had a Fall party at school (that we took no pictures of...we're failing as parents now) where she wore her costume to participate in the parade.  Unfortunately, only half of her costume made it home, so I spent most of the first half of the day Saturday scouring various stores looking for a replacement.  If you notice, this Minnie outfit is slightly different from the outfit she wore in an earlier post.  Now you know why.

On Saturday afternoon (because we live in Georgia), we headed out for trick or treating adventures.  Our venue of choice this year was our own church's Fall Festival.  There were several different carnival games, most of which Fallon could actually enjoy.  Her favorite was the Plinko game, maybe because they gave out the most candy at the end.

They also had tatoos and face painting...Fallon picked the princess crown for herself.

And they had snow cones, popcorn, bounce houses, and the must-do for the Fall season...a hayride.

All in all, we had a great time, and learned some valuable lessons.  #1 - Bring camera.  It helps when trying to take pictures.  #2 - Turn the preschool classroom upside down on Fridays making sure you have EVERYTHING because the place is closed on the weekend.
